From COP30 to COP31: Building Common Ground for Youth Climate Action
Within the scope of GreenNext, we aimed to strengthen young people’s active participation in climate policies in Türkiye by building on COP30 outcomes and to create a shared action agenda on the road to COP31.

About the event
As part of the event we co-organized as the Global Climate Academy Association, we aimed to localize the global climate agenda in Türkiye from a youth perspective by building on the outcomes of COP30, and to create a shared platform that supports young people’s active engagement in the process on the road to COP31.
We would like to thank Nilay Abınık Akçalı, Sustainability Program Director at Habitat Association; Gaye Tuğrulöz, Chair of the Board of the Social Climate Association; and Başak Özcan, General Manager of Garaj X TEKMER, for joining us in the opening remarks.
The Youth Climate Action After COP30 Panel, moderated by Ezgi Bayram, Project Manager at Habitat Association, featured valuable insights and experiences shared by Erdoğan Karaca, Climate Change Expert from the Climate Change Presidency of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change; Prof. Dr. Nesrin Algan, Board Member of the Global Climate Academy Association; and Gaye Tuğrulöz, Chair of the Board of the Social Climate Association.
In the second part of the program, during the Youth Climate Action Solution Tables, we referred to the COP30 Assessment Report to discuss societal impacts and the roles young people can take across five key focus areas: Individuals, Women, Children & Youth, Entrepreneurs & SMEs, and Public & Local Authorities.
On the road to COP31, we will continue to strengthen a shared climate action agenda shaped by the voices of young people together with our stakeholders.
