Towards COP31: From Local Action to Global Impact

Grant Support for KIAD’s Project: “Towards COP31: From Global Policy to Local Action, From Local Action to Global Impact”

As the Global Climate Academy Association (KIAD), we are delighted to be among the organizations supported under the Support Foundation for Civil Society’s 2026-1 Grant Program.

Our project, “Towards COP31: From Global Policy to Local Action, From Local Action to Global Impact,” implemented by KIAD, aims to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations operating along the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts in the fields of climate policy, international environmental agreements, and advocacy. The project is supported through the Turquoise Coast Environment Fund – Turkey (TCEF) Grant Program.

Recognizing COP31, which will take place in 2026, as a significant opportunity, the project will:

  • Organize training and capacity-building activities for civil society organizations working in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions;

  • Lay the groundwork for the establishment of the Blue Advocacy Network to strengthen regional cooperation;

  • Produce content focusing on climate change, coastal and marine ecosystems, blue carbon, and the COP31 agenda;

  • Contribute to the integration of local experiences into national and international policy processes;

  • Develop policy recommendations for the protection of coastal and marine ecosystems and share them with relevant stakeholders.

Carried out under the motto “From Local to Global, A Stronger Voice Together,” this initiative seeks to bring together civil society actors working for the future of the Mediterranean and Aegean regions around a common advocacy platform.

We invite all institutions, organizations, and stakeholders interested in collaborating with us, participating in project activities, or learning more about our project to get in touch.

Together, we are taking action for the future of the Mediterranean and Aegean regions and working to ensure that voices rising from the local level are heard throughout the COP31 process.
